CANTAMOS

Cantamos provides a place for young men ages 15 - 21 years of age with changed voices.  This choir is made up of auditioned members and is limited to less than 24 members.  The choir was developed out of a need to inspire more young men to sing and be part of a truly exciting musical experience.  The voice must be a changed voice that has settled into a tenor or bass range.  A member of Cantamos should have had a minimum of two years previous choral experience - past Boy Choir experience is preferable.  He should be able to read music enough to pick out a part, sight read easy melodic lines, sing harmonies accurately and in tune, and understand differences in musical styles from past to present.

Cantamos sings two programs of their own and may travel independently or jointly with the Concert Choir.  They will also sing occasionally with the Concert Choir and will perform choral works for men from Gregorian chant to modern classics.  The young men in this choir will also learn the basics of choral management and preparation for concerts and tours.

Cantamos rehearses Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30PM.
