Artistic Director, Edmund Torrez
Mr. Torrez has been with the Albuquerque Boy Choir since 1996 as the Director of the Choristers. Mr. Torrez became the Artistic Director in 2000, after the retirement of Michael Mauldin. Under the direction of Mr. Torrez, the choir has traveled to many places in the United States and Australia and has annually been invited to the AmeriFest and World Fest Choir Festivals.  more...

Mark Scholz was born in Warren, Ohio.  After attending Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, California, Mark graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, with a BA in Music Education and minors in Physical Education and History.  more...



Director - Cadets, Jeanne Sharpe

Prior to accepting the position of Cadet Choir Director, Jeanne Sharpe served as the Cadet Choir accompanist for seven years.  It is a fulfilling experience for Jeanne to hear the Concert Choir perform, as she remembers the day many of those same young singers joined the Cadets.

Paul Roth, Accompanist - Concert Choir

Paul, a native of New Mexico, started playing piano at the age of five.  From an early age, he has played for church and school ensembles, finding joy in musical collaboration.  He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from UNM in 1990.  He is currently the pianist for Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Paul teaches piano privately and is an active accompanist for many vocal and instrumental recitals.


Denise Baccadutre, Accompanist - Choristers

Denise Baccadutre began studying piano at the age of five.  She graduated in 1972 from Wichita State University.  She majored in Vocal Performance; minored in Music Education; and participated in opera, the University Singers, and the Madrigals.  After graduation, she taught vocal music for 10 years to students in grades K-12.

Since moving to New Mexico in 1984, Denise has worked for the Moriarity Municipal Schools as a secondary choral director and administrator and an elementary principal.  In 1995, she returned to teaching choral music because she says: "I missed music in my life and teaching music is a lot more fun than being a principal!"  She currently teaches two middle-school and five high-school choirs: "The young men and their beautiful voices in the Choristers have added a new dimension to my life."   Denise received her Master's degree in Educational Administration and is currently pursuing a doctorate at UNM.


Judy Case, Accompanist - Cadets

Judy Case began playing the piano at age nine, teaching herself the notes and her first song in order to convince her parents that she was serious about taking piano lessons.  She attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, where she majored in Applied Piano Performance.  While at the university she accompanied the Contempos, a contemporary Christian music group that toured the country.  Over the years, she has accompoanied choirs and musical productions in several states, and has taught piano in each locale.  Judy is employed at Sandia National Laboratories, where she is the Leadership Development Program Manager and Special Programs Consultant / Facilitator.
